Celebrating teacher's day with siblings

It was teacher's day few hours ago....Happy belated teachers day to all teachers in Brunei.  Actually the teacher's day fall every year on 23rd september since this year it was felt during Syawal therefore it was postponed to 5th November.  This year theme is "Guru berkualiti teras kecemerlangan pendidikan' which means Quality Teachers are the heart of Excellent Education.

I invited my family to my house for dinner.  I cooked and served them special 'soto' ( noodles beef soup) just now to celebrate the teacher's but ..since I was too excited and busy with my siblings and nieces, I forgot to take some snaps of my special 'soto'.  I baked cheese cake too for my sisters and cupcakes for kids. This is my first trial to make cupcakes.  I make cheese cream to decorate the top of the cake and sprinkled them with coloring sprinkles.  The decoration looked not really nice but I'm happy my kids loved it...and they want me to make another cupcakes again...emmm so I have to googled the utube to find the best cupcake butter cream recipe....

Breakfast with waffle

My kids really love waffle and pan cake.  This morning I served them 8 pieces of waffles spread with nutella.  I like to have it with butter and honey or maple syrup....My hubby likes my wafle too but I'm still not satisfy with my waffle recipe.  I'm looking for the best one that make the waffle spongy and yummy.  Dear bloggers if you have any please do share with me....I know you have the best one.  What about you rosma..You don't mind sharing with me..hehehehe

Ingredients :

2 eggs,

4-6 table spoons of sugar

1 glass of self-raising flour

2 glasses of fresh milk or water ( up to you to decide)

2 tablespoons of butter or vegetable oil.

Mix all well and stir then cook

This event was happened last week...a special treat from my 8th sister, Marni.  Wow... three big dishes of crabs with different taste each were served for us at the city stalls in Bandar Seri Begawan.  That night there were lots of  people came to these stalls. It might be because of the payday..or the food is good. Do you know? This is my first time to have lunch at this place.  Before I was not really interested eating at this place.  I don't know why..but because of my sister offered us to have lunch here so at last I must go and try the seafood.  Yeah yummy..not bad...the crabs were delicious and tasty.  I think you better try the food there..

Happy 8th birthday..Naqib

Yesterday the 28th Oct was my son's birthday.  I didn't celebrate it at home...I knew he would missed his daddy.  My hubby is not around until this Saturday...oh so sad.  Since Naqib's exam was over so I decided to celebrate it with his friends at school during break time.  I didn't do the cooking because I have no time to prepare the food for his birthday party early in the morning and I'm working too.  So I just ordered everything from the Ideal Fastfood.

This weekend I was attending an outing function organised by Bakti Association at Pulau Pakuan Tanjung Bunut in Brunei-Muara district.  Actually its not a real island..it is just a name for a place where 'this person' planted local fruits and made fish ponds.  At first I didn't know where this faked island is situated.  Unbelievable..this was my first trip to this area and you know what it just took 20minutes to arrive at this island from my house..Why  I didn't know this place? Shame of me..hehehehe

Lunch with nasi lemak

I felt today, Sunday, I need to cook nasi lemak for lunch.  I have eaten lots of rendang, lemang, ketupat, satay, laksa, biscuits, cakes since 1st syawal Raya..hehehe not every day lah..My tastebud seems want to eat nasi lemak lah..today . It just a very simple menu ....and my kids love it especially the sweet hot dried anchovies sambal... but it would be more yummy if with salted fish..but I don't have at home now...

Too buzy with raya celebration

Hi its me again..sorry for my dissapearance for the last few weeks.  Raya celebration made me too busy here and there.  1st syawal till last sunday 15th Syawal, emmmm.. there were lots of raya celebration and raya invitation from relatives and friends.  yes..sometimes I felt too exhausted ...to many things to do such as preparing food, go here and there visiting relatives and friends' houses, not enough sleep....anyway I love it and enjoyed the Raya with family.

I'm really busy for the past few days and the coming days ....yes too busy...preparing  for the raya celebration, shopping, sawing beads for my kids and my 'Baju kurung' , doing some cleaning in the house, etc....Now I'm trying to relax for an hour.UUhh my feet feel a bit numb for being standing so many hours... baking biscuits. But when I see my laptop, it make my addiction towards it is glowing again..Blogging.....yup, something to upload here....check these out!!!!

Yahoooo...I got coupons.

These coupons were Raya celebration gifts from Angkatan Tentera Laut school coorparation company.  I was one of its member and it is its annual gift for all members to get 2 cases of soft drinks.  Yesss.. I can save my budget and buy few more cases..maybe less than 4 cases...Hopefully enough for 1 week..

Foundant cake...emm....yummy its true,my kids like it.

Last night after sungkai I tried to bake fondant cake...waahhh this is because of you <rosma  >You make me sick for the past few days just to think this very simple recepi..hehehehe.....  Since I got all the ingredients at my kitchen so mission must be done at once...hahahaha...Chocolate is my 1st daughter, son and hubby's favourite..But I don't let them eat all the time.

Mission was completed and the result of the cake was not as 5 stars bakery shop but i'm happy the chocolate lava burst out of the cake was look ok..Alhamdullilah its true dear friend rosma my children like it..

So here the recepi that I have modified...

Sungkai without husband..miss him

My hubby was attending a 'Sungkai' function with his jobmates this evening.  So I was alone with my kids breaking the fast. Yahoo..time for me to rest... No need to prepare too much. Menu for today just one..'kueh teaw basah'...its a simple recipe.  But still I prefer him to gather sungkai with him.  I miss him alot.

# Fried onion, fish cake, taufu, crab stick.

# add water, one tablespoon tomyam or chicken cube (either one) till boil.

#when boil add vege,  and corn flour to thicken the liquid.

# pour black paper powder.

# pour the 'kuah' to the noodles

* I didnt add egg in the mixture (before adding corn flour) since my children got chickenpox.

Creating Ikebana

I was really tired for the past few days..uhhh..routine housekeeping + schools' work + nursing after my kids + gardening. Alhamdullilah, my fasting mood was still constant.  This afternoon I felt my mood was ok.  Raya season is coming soon..."Why don't I create Ikebana just for a trial for Raya preparation".....No need to buy pots of flowers for Raya and save my money.  Since I have variety of shrubs and herbs in my garden, I tried to create 2 Ikebana and the outcomes....opppsss

Another chickenpox!!!!!!...090909

090909 is the day which I can called 'trademark sign' for  my son naqib.  I was surprised this morning he was infected with chickenpox.  I knew it sooner or later the viral infection will transferred to Naqib since he is her closed contact who are not infected by this illness yet. I brought Naqib to clinic and the same prescriptions were given just like Izzat's.

Look at his face.. he is really sad.  I know he is incomfortable with this calamine lotion on his face and body.
